Altberg bootmakers have been making boots at their factory in Richmond, North Yorkshire, England since 1989.
Richmond, North Yorkshire is an ancient market town - the 'Mother of all Richmonds' - Richmond Castle which still dominates the town, overlooks the largest cobbled market place in England, was built shortly after the Norman conquest in 1066.
Richmond has a strong tradition of craft guilds dating back to medieval times.
Over the years most of the craft guilds have disappeared, but Altberg is proud of its heritage in carrying forward the tradition of boot making in Richmond.
Today Altberg is the last remaining British Bootmaker actually manufacturing walking, military and motorcycle boots in the UK.
